Leaf Cuvettes & Accessories
Leaf cuvettes for use with the CIRAS Portable Photosynthesis System
Leaf Cuvettes
PP Systems has been producing a full range of leaf cuvettes to accommodate a wide variety of leaf types (broad, narrow, conifers, pods, fruits, etc.). In addition, technical staff have produced many special designs for specific applications and plant types such as mosses, lichens, Arabidopsis, Cactii.
PP Systems offer a range of low cost, "manual" style cuvettes and light units for leaf gas exchange measurements under ambient conditions. They also offer an extensive range of "automatic" leaf cuvettes that feature integrated, automatic control of temperature from approximately -8°C below ambient up to +40°C. Optional light units are available for use with all "automatic" style leaf cuvettes providing automatic, integral light control. All "automatic" style cuvettes can be used for ambient studies as well.

Accessories
PP Systems offer a full range of leaf cuvette accessories adding to the measurement and control capability of the CIRAS Portable Photosynthesis System.
The Chlorophyll Fluorescence Module (CFM) was developed as a joint project between Hansatech Instruments and PP Systems and provides measurement of chlorophyll fluorescence using the Pulse Amplitude Modulation (PAM) technique.
The pulsed fluorescence that is induced by the modulation beam is used to probe the efficiency of light-use for photosystem II photochemistry. The standard LED light unit has been extensively redeveloped to include chlorophyll fluorescence detection capabilities, while retaining all normal functionality as an actinic light source for gas exchange measurements. The modified unit provides the modulating beam, saturating pulses, far-red illumination and fluorescence detection required for fluorescence measurement, in a remarkably compact, solid-state and lightweight unit. This requires no additional power sources.
