Light Sensors

Hansatech Instruments light sensors have been designed to provide a means of light source calibration for both the oxygen and fluorescence instrumentation product range. The Quantitherm has been designed as a method of pre-determining the incident light and temperature within the liquid-phase oxygen electrode chambers. However, please note that this unit is not designed as a submersible sensor and should not be immersed in the sample.

The QSPAR and QSRED large area quantum sensors are intended either as stand alone field portable PAR sensors or as a calibration tool for the LH36/2R (QSRED) and LS2 (QSPAR). Both units are fully cosine corrected and have analogue outputs which may be connected to an external chart recorder or data logger.

The SQS+ has dual functionality serving first and foremost as an automatic calibration tool for the Handy PEA+ fluorimeter and secondly as a stand alone PAR sensor. When connected to a PC via USB, comprehensive Windows software allows PAR values to be logged at user defined periods for durations of up to a month.

  • Quantitherm PAR/temperature sensor

    • Compact, fully portable handheld unit with QTP1 combined PAR/temperature probe sensor
    • Temperature sensor range of 0°C – 50°C with 0.02°C resolution
    • LCD digital display of PAR & temperature values (°C or °F)
    • QTP1+ suspends vertically in reaction vessel of liquid-phase oxygen electrode chambers allowing light source calibration
    • 0V – 5V analogue output of PAR & temperature signals.
  • QSPAR quantum sensor

    • Compact, fully portable handheld light meter with matched cosine corrected, large-area quantum sensor
    • LCD digital display of PAR radiation
    • Filtered for 400nm – 700nm waveband
    • 3 measurement ranges (0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 20 µmol m-2 s-1, 0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 200 µmol m-2 s-1 & 0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 2,000 µmol m-2 s-1)
    • 0V – 2V analogue output of PAR signal
    • Compatible for use with DW3, LD1/2 & LD2/3 electrode chambers as a light source calibration tool.
  • QSRED quantum sensor

    • Compact, fully portable handheld light meter with matched cosine corrected, large-area quantum sensor
    • LCD digital display of PAR radiation
    • Filtered for 550nm – 750nm waveband
    • 3 measurement ranges (0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 20 µmol m-2 s-1, 0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 200 µmol m-2 s-1 & 0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 2,000 µmol m-2 s-1)
    • 0V – 2V analogue output of PAR signal
    • Compatible for use with DW3, LD1/2 & LD2/3 electrode chambers as a light source calibration tool.
  • USB quantum sensor

    • Fully cosine corrected serial quantum sensor with dual functionality
    • Filtered for 400nm – 700nm waveband
    • Measurement range of 0 µmol m-2 s-1 – 5,000 µmol m-2 s-1 with 1 µmol m-2 s-1 resolution
    • Logs PAR values at user defined intervals directly to the PC screen on simultaneous graphical & digital display software
    • Provides a light source calibration tool & instant light meter for the Handy PEA+ chlorophyll fluorimeter.
